In the morning of September 19th, 2018, the Second Forum on Trade Promotion and Development Investment Cooperation of Vietnam’s Food Industry is held by Trade Promotion Department under Ministry of Industry and Trade. Mr. Nguyen Thanh Viet, Chairman of the BOD – General Director of Infrastructure Investment and Transportation Construction Joint Stock Company (INTRACOM) attends the forum as a guest.
More than 300 delegates that are businesses, associations, localities, importers, investors, distributors, etc., from Vietnam, Japan, Hong Kong and Korea gather here and 50 booths display and introduce products in the field of production and export of food, agricultural products, etc., of enterprises from many localities in the country, including Ho Chi Minh City, An Giang, Bac Giang, Nghe An, Can Tho, Kien Giang, etc.
The speakers and guests discuss many issues in the field of food processing industry such as: material areas; potential consumption markets; the trend of increasing convenience processing products; the trend of investment and application of new technologies and improving added value. At the same time, food industry experts have come up with many solutions to develop the domestic food processing industry. This is an activity on the purpose of promoting trade promotion activities and calling for investment in the food industry.
When asked about the current state of food in Vietnam, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Viet answered that Vietnam’s agriculture was very potential and required the recognition and sympathy from many parties: the state, enterprises, producers and consumers. However, the parties have not developed it properly in accordance with the potentials. The state should have appropriate policies, apply new technologies and learn experience from developed countries to eliminate unnecessary waste. Farmers need to produce clean food, helping themselves and the community while affirming the brand of the Vietnamese food industry. The agriculture and food industry needs big businesses and small businesses and start-ups as well to help and support each other.
Coming to the forum, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Viet also expresses his appreciation of and respect to the efforts of the Trade Promotion Department – Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam and businesses involved in economic connection. On this occasion, Intracom, in addition to exchanging experiences, consolidating and developing existing projects on agriculture, creates opportunities for investment cooperation and trade connection with other domestic and foreign businesses, contributing to the development of Vietnam’s food industry.
It is known that in the coming time, the Trade Promotion Department – Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam will continue to coordinate with relevant agencies to implement more trade promotion activities for enterprises in the food industry; focus on building and promoting the activities of the National Food Brand Program, one of the strategic directions, consistent with the current situation and future development trend of the Vietnam’s food industry.
